Based on the Readyman kit of the same name. The Dritz lighted magnifying tweezers and the Miracle Point tweezers are key components of the kit. Actually, they can serve as a foreign object removal kit all by themselves. For years I carried a pair of Miracle Point tweezers. (1.0) I would like to say that the Dritz lighted magnifying tweezers could serve as a F.O.R.K. on their own. However, In my opinion the tweezers and the magnifying lense are lacking. The saving grace is that the led light housing will accept the the Miracle Point tweezers and the Bausch & Lomb lense. Modded thusly, the Dritz unit can serve as a F.O.R.K. on its own. I had carried this set up for years. (2.0) Then the Readyman kit came on the market. I could see the advantages of the probes. So I got one, I ditched the scissors (again not up to my standards, not sure why they were included), the alcohol wipes, one of the probe handles, and the lighted magnifier (a nice unit, totally inadequate for the intend use, imo). (3.0) I also included a disposable splinter lance, just cause I had one.
Kit assumes proper clothing. Might not need all of it. It is geared toward stability on ice (with three stability enhancement options), extra warmth (five options), emergency heat (two options), a signaling method, and last but certainly not least, a couple of self rescue tools.
