Great website and helpful content, keep up the great work! I hadn’t considered the prioritized cascading approach and it makes sense…but I have some clarifying questions. I read in one post it’s not meant to literally be separate bags, but rather get as far down the priority list as possible (and choose the corresponding bag size and target weight). But the I also read the post with the image of small pack, larger pack (and suggestion to wear large on back and small on front) then the large duffle bag for Level 3 and then the larger Tote. Kinda makes sense that each progression adds capabilities, comfort and supply capacity (duration)….aligned with situation. Take the small and large pack and dump the large pack if needed knowing the small pack has the essentials. Or in a situation where your evacuating ahead of a hurricane in a vehicle with open roads and the possibility you’ll been in a shelter for weeks+ bring the packs, duffel and tote in the car knowing you’ll have essentials plus extended capabilities, comfort and capacity. My instinct is to combine 1 and 2 as the portable/mobile option and add the Duffel & Tote as the vehicle supported extended stay option. I like the idea of a more simplified two-stage ‘either/or’ decision: Go fast, light and agile…or go farther and more well equipped as scenario dictates. Thoughts?
